Using your camera's flash

Learn how to turn on your camera's flash so it will go off no matter what. Then when you want to make sure that the person's eyes have catch lights, you'll get a picture where the eyes aren't dark recessed areas of the face, which happens most often outdoors in sunlight. Your subject won't have to face the sun and end up squinting. Also works great indoors even when there's enough light not to use a flash. The light from the flash is like a fill light which reduces the shadows and dark areas.
